Gluten in Makeup? Uncovering the hidden ingredients.

Long gone are the days when ingredients were simple and pronounceable. Today when you look at applesauce it lists thirty different added ingredients. What happened to just Fresh Pressed Apples?

Companies use less expensive, stronger and more harmful ingredients in our makeup to increase a products shelf life while increasing the risk of cancer. However, now it is affecting those with gluten intolerance. Gluten is wheat, barley, malt, rye and sometimes oats that are found in almost all daily food choices; soy sauce, ice cream and even many soups. Having a gluten allergy forces one to be a detective researching which food and products a person should be able to use and which ones they must avoid.

Make cosmetics a Gluten Free zone and confidently feel safe knowing that the products you use on our body are helping you rather than possibly killing you. Knowing which products include wheat, barley, oats, rye and malt ingredients can be life changing. The makeup that is a concern is those that have the potential to be ingested, but depending on your sensitivity, the cross contamination of products can cause a reaction. According to Celiac.com those that are highly sensitive and use creams with gluten and then touch food which is then ingested, reacted as if they ate gluten.

Samino Peptide Complex is in many products but does not state anything regarding gluten; however it is actually Barley derived and therefore contains gluten. To see what else contains gluten undercover visit http://www.naturallydahling.com/ingredients.html. For a complete list of products that contain no gluten visit http://www.arbonnemarketing.com/PDF/US_Gluten-Free_List.pdf

Eliminate gluten once and for all and purchase gluten free products that you can confidently say is Gluten Free!

Hard Enough?

Camp Happy Face MascotImage by emdot via Flickr

I am in conversations daily with people and seem to hear the phrase isn't life hard enough...often.

Why does it have to be that way? I do not understand when focusing on the negative in a situation became easier than trying to find the bright side.

Things, life, whatever...

are hard because we make them that way by the way we look at them. Now, I am not so crazy to think that bad things happen, they do, and usually they happen to me, now that being said, I choose to find the bright spot in the overwhelming darkness. I want to live on the sunny side of the street.

This journey we have only comes around once that we know of..cant we all just try to find the positive and let go of the negative? If what you think about you bring about, maybe we need to adjust the way we think? I don't know about you, but at the end of the day I just want to be happy.

I have to believe there are others out there that want the same....good and bad things are always happen, and lessons will be learned from both. I hope the lesson will be that you can find something good if you look hard enough for it, cross the street to the happy side.

What's the Big Deal?

A beach after an oil spill.Image via Wikipedia

Many of our "lotions" and "potions" are made from mineral oil. Mineral oil is refined crude oil, or a petrochemical. That means you are probably applying this petrochemical to your skin everyday. Your skin is your largest organ, what you put on it is in it in 26 seconds. This is according to the Environmental Protection Agency.
Mineral oil. or non renewable crude oil is the same thing that kills marine life after an oil spill. Mineral oil actually blocks all good ingredients in a product from working.

"Cancer and health risk experts concluded reviews that indicate mainstream personal care products pose a higher risk of cancer exposures to the general public than smoking."

Did I answer your question? It is a big deal and all you have to do is change...... may I offer an alternative....you bet I can!
