Need a little help keeping that New Year resolution? Find out in 5 Ways.

It's the New Year and as always we look in the mirror and decide to make that New Year's resolution to loose some weight. We sign up for a gym membership, buy new fun work out clothes, and clean out the fridge of unhealthy food while stocking up on the healthy vegetables instead. In reality only 8% of individuals actually achieve their initial goal per statisticbrain.com

Mom is always right when she says "don't make a snap decision but instead sit on it for a while before acting on it".  When we make an impulse decision the outcome we were hoping for may never be achieved. In order to make a more informative decision it is always good to go in with your homework done and a plan in mind. Therefore, we have researched the five tasks you should do prior to jumping into that New Years weight loss resolution:

1.  Put it in Writing:  Think of your idea as brilliant and put it on paper.  By doing this, it makes your idea more tangible.  Write your goal down on a ‘post it’ and put it somewhere you are going to see every day (like a mirror) to remind you what you are working so hard for.

2.  Buddy System: Most of us have family members or friends who are looking to achieve the same goals we are.  By asking one of them to complete the goal with you not only gives you some juicy gossip time for those daily workouts, but another way for you to push yourself to keep up with your buddy in order to achieve the goals.

3.  Baby Goals:  The thought of losing weight is always daunting no matter what the amount is.  Therefore, give your self "baby goals" to help you reach your main goal.  For example, make a "baby goal" to fit into your favorite pair of jeans a little more comfortably or to walk twice a week.  This will make your main goal easier to reach.

4.  Choose One Main Goal:  If you decide to start off the New Year by making multiple resolutions such as loose weight, payoff debt and save money, you are simply setting yourself up to fail.  Having one big goal allows you to focus and work hard to achieve it.

5.  Reward Yourself:  Everybody likes a little pat on the back every now and then. As we all know weight loss can be one of the biggest feats of all from sweating at the gym to eating healthy on a daily basis.  When we actually start seeing results there is a sense of victory and we want that victory to be celebrated.  To celebrate avoid the cake and go shopping!   https://secure.myarbonne.com/arbonne/nisbett.nsf/p1/1?OpenDocument&shoppingcart=1
